Simply Church is a movement, led and powered by God’s Holy Spirit, to take the church of Jesus Christ to the overwhelming majority of Americans who aren’t currently part of any church community. We have a passionate desire to see the millions throughout North America who are far from God draw near to Him through saving faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. We know that Christ has the answers to the most difficult questions in life and are determined to take church to those least likely to come through the doors of a traditional church in search of those answers. We do this by planting a continually multiplying network of small, non-traditional, simple churches that gather in homes, community centers, places of business, schools, or anywhere else God makes a place.
The Simply Church movement is a network of pastors and leaders who encourage, equip, and hold one another accountable for the rapid expansion of God’s Kingdom through the sharing of the Gospel and the multiplication of churches. We help member churches identify, train, and send out new leaders and pastors from within their congregations. Simply Church doesn’t hinder Kingdom growth by imposing an unbiblically high bar of theological training for leaders. Potential leaders and planting teams are equipped with essential skills, knowledge, and experiences to help them faithfully adhere to orthodox biblical Christianity and provide Christ-like leadership. They are equipped to be lifelong learners and committed followers of Jesus Christ.
Church isn’t a group of people meeting in a nice building. Church is a Kingdom community gathering and spreading the gospel as seen in the Book of Acts. “Simply Churches” are New Testament churches with an Acts 2 emphasis on worship, fellowship, prayer, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism. Simply churches are intentionally simple in structure and format to focus on sharing Christ and following Him together. Simply Churches don’t require much money, dedicated buildings, or paid leaders.
Simply Church isn’t traditional “large launch” church planting that transplants numerous church members from a mother church to a daughter church. The biblical pattern for Simply Church consists of a handful of biblically qualified leaders and sincerely committed Christ-followers who share a passion for the gospel and sacrificial obedience to the Great Commission. A Simply Church core team may be as small as four members. The ongoing multiplication of churches is based on biblical principles grounded in prayer, the power and work of the Holy Spirit, and the faithful obedience of small, Spirit-filled planting teams.
