Fellowship & Encouragement
Starting a new small church can be challenging. The Simply Church Movement is a community of like-minded pastors and planters who meet regularly online to share updates about our churches, provide accountability, and encourage each other as we encounter obstacles and try new things for God and His Kingdom.
Mentorship & Coaching
The members of the Movement are great people to know (in our humble opinions). We can provide coaching and mentoring in all aspects of starting a new Simply Church, getting it going, getting it growing, and making disciples who will go start the next Simply Church.
Prayer & Fasting
Members of the Simply Church Movement meet regularly online to lift each other up in prayer. We devote one day per month to fasting and praying for every Simply Church and the movement as a whole. We share prayer requests electronically between meetings. Let us pray for your Simply Church!
Help with “The Details”
If you’re passionate about reaching people far from God in the name of Jesus you may not be as excited about administrative details. Nonetheless, even the simplest of churches have some things that must be done to get started in a sustainable way. We can guide you through those and offer assistance so you can focus on making disciples!
Who Are We?
Pastor & Mobilizer
Brian Burdett
Brian is the Lead Pastor of the traditional Lake Ridge Baptist Church in Woodbridge, VA since 2017. God used various means across a period of years to communicate this vision for taking church out to reach those unlikely to enter a traditional church that we call Simply Church.
LRBC became the initial mobilizing and sending church for the Simply Church movement and hosts Simply Church Clipper Drive on Saturday evenings to reach people and train new Simply Church leaders.

Joe Thele
Joe has been a pastor since 2022 and was a founding pastor of Simply Church @ Sentara Hospital. He has been a deacon chair, led committees, and served in a variety of volunteer roles. Joe has a heart for reaching the lost. He is currently the pastor of Simply Church San Angelo in San Angelo, Texas.

George Wilson
George is the pastor and worship leader for Simply Church @ Sentara Hospital, a mighty prayer warrior for the Simply Church movement, and Associate Worship Pastor at Lake Ridge Baptist Church in Woodbridge, VA.
